What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Code of Respect (X-CoRe) program aimed at preventing sexual assault and harassment among active duty airmen. It focuses on enhancing psychosocial factors such as knowledge, skills, and attitudes towards respectful relationships. Participants will be cluster-randomized by squadron to either the X-CoRe intervention or a control group, with the goal of reducing victimization and promoting positive bystander behavior. The study will take place at Joint Base McGuire Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are active duty airmen stationed at Joint Base McGuire Dix-Lakehurst, specifically those ranked E1-E4.
Not a fit: Patients who are not active duty airmen or are ranked above E4, as well as those in other military branches, will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly reduce incidents of sexual assault and harassment, improving the overall safety and cohesion within military units.
How similar studies have performed: While similar interventions have been implemented in various settings, the specific approach of the X-CoRe program is novel and has not been extensively tested in this military context.
