Mulligan mobilization with core and pelvic-floor strengthening for postpartum sacroiliac joint pain
Additional Effects of Mulligan Mobilization With Movement Along With Core Strengthening Exercises in Postpartum Females With Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction
This study will see if adding Mulligan mobilization to core and pelvic‑floor strengthening helps postpartum women (6 weeks to 6 months after delivery) who have sacroiliac joint pain.

What this trial studies
Postpartum multiparous women aged 20–40 with sacroiliac joint dysfunction confirmed by at least three positive provocation tests will receive a program combining Mulligan mobilization with targeted core and pelvic‑floor strengthening. The intervention aims to correct subtle SIJ positional faults with manual therapy while improving pelvic stability and neuromuscular control through exercise. Participants will be followed to monitor changes in pain, function, and SIJ provocation test results. The approach targets common postpartum biomechanical and hormonal contributors to SIJ pain.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are multiparous postpartum females aged 20–40, between 6 weeks and 6 months after delivery, who have at least three positive sacroiliac joint provocation tests.
Not a fit: Patients with pelvic fractures or recent pelvic surgery, neurological or rheumatologic disorders, or those unable to participate in active exercise or manual therapy are unlikely to benefit from this intervention.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the combined manual therapy and exercise program could reduce pain and improve pelvic stability and daily function for postpartum women with SIJ dysfunction.
How similar studies have performed: Some clinical reports and smaller trials support Mulligan mobilization and core strengthening for SIJ pain, but high‑quality evidence specifically in postpartum populations remains limited.
