What this trial studies
This mixed-methods feasibility project tests a 10-week, multi-component intervention co-designed with pedagogical staff, leaders, movement-culture experts, and researchers to support daily movement practices and the joy of movement in Danish kindergartens. Tailored implementation strategies accompany the intervention to promote adoption and sustainability in everyday kindergarten routines. The study examines both the practical delivery of the intervention and the feasibility of planned measurement methods and procedures for a future larger effectiveness trial. University College Copenhagen leads the work in collaboration with several foundations and local kindergartens.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal participants are pedagogical staff and leaders in Danish kindergartens and the preschool children they serve who are willing to co-design and implement daily movement activities.
Not a fit: Children who are not enrolled in participating kindergartens or settings that cannot adopt the program's practices are unlikely to benefit from this intervention.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the program could increase daily physical activity, motor skills, and enjoyment of movement among preschool children and offer a scalable model for kindergartens.
How similar studies have performed: Related preschool physical-activity programs have shown promising improvements in activity and motor skills, but co-designed, implementation-focused feasibility work like this is less commonly tested.
