What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of motor learning training combined with a conventional physiotherapy program for individuals suffering from chronic lateral epicondylitis. A total of 46 volunteers aged 18-65 will be randomly assigned to either a motor learning group or a control group. The motor learning group will participate in three sessions per week of specialized exercises for six weeks, while the control group will engage in eccentric training and stretching exercises. The study will utilize a glove with sensors to monitor grip force and wrist movement, and all evaluations will be conducted by an independent investigator.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 18-65 with a physician-diagnosed chronic lateral epicondylitis and a pain score greater than 3 on the visual analog scale.

Not a fit: Patients with concurrent wrist and forearm disorders or those who have received corticosteroid injections in the past six months may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance recovery and improve function for patients with chronic lateral epicondylitis.

How similar studies have performed: While the specific combination of motor learning exercises and sensor technology is novel, similar approaches in rehabilitation have shown promise in other studies.
