What this trial studies

This randomized controlled study aims to evaluate the impact of Health Belief Model Based Motivational Interviewing on increasing HPV-DNA testing among women aged 30-45. The study focuses on addressing barriers that prevent women from seeking HPV testing, such as lack of information and embarrassment. By utilizing motivational interviewing techniques, the study seeks to enhance women's understanding and acceptance of HPV testing, ultimately aiming to reduce cervical cancer rates. Participants will be recruited from a Family Health Center in Istanbul and will include women who have never undergone HPV testing and are undecided about it.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are women aged 30-45 who are registered at the Family Health Center and have never had an HPV DNA test.

Not a fit: Patients who have previously undergone HPV DNA testing or have diagnosed psychiatric problems may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly increase HPV-DNA testing rates, leading to earlier detection and prevention of cervical cancer in women.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success with motivational interviewing techniques in health behavior change, suggesting potential effectiveness in this context as well.
