What this trial studies
This study evaluates the impact of the eFisioTrack platform on the rehabilitation of patients with shoulder injuries at the University Hospital of Elche. Patients will be randomly assigned to either a control group receiving physiotherapist-supervised exercises or an experimental group using the eFisioTrack system for independent exercise. The study aims to assess the effectiveness of this monitoring device on clinical outcomes such as pain and function, using established patient-reported measures. Participants will undergo assessments at baseline and one month after starting their rehabilitation program.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older with traumatic or degenerative shoulder injuries who can understand Spanish and have a prescription for physical therapy.
Not a fit: Patients with concurrent upper extremity or cervical spine injuries or those with sequelae from previous injuries may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance adherence to rehabilitation exercises and improve recovery outcomes for patients with shoulder injuries.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using technology for rehabilitation monitoring, suggesting potential success for this approach.
