What this trial studies
The TEMPLAR project is an observational, cross-sectional study that involves multiple community pharmacies throughout Italy. It aims to analyze 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) conducted in these pharmacies to evaluate blood pressure control in the community. By collecting data under medical supervision, the study seeks to provide scientific evidence on the effectiveness of a telehealth network involving pharmacists in hypertension screening and management. The project will assess the usefulness of this service in improving public health and supporting healthcare providers.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients of any age and sex who have conventional clinical indications for ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, whether they are treated with antihypertensive medications or not.
Not a fit: Patients who do not have hypertension or do not meet the clinical indications for blood pressure monitoring may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this project could enhance hypertension management and improve patient outcomes through better blood pressure control.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success with similar telemonitoring approaches in managing chronic diseases, indicating potential for positive outcomes in this context.
