What this trial studies

The i-MoMCARE project is a digital health initiative designed to enhance maternal and child health (MCH) services for pregnant women and their infants in rural Cambodia. By leveraging mobile technology, the project aims to empower village health support groups (VHSGs) with mobile applications that facilitate the registration of mothers, scheduling of healthcare appointments, and maintenance of digital health records. The study will implement a two-arm cluster randomized controlled trial across five provinces, focusing on improving MCH coverage and addressing barriers to care. The intervention will also evaluate the acceptability and cost-effectiveness of the mobile technology in supporting healthcare delivery.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are pregnant women aged 18-49 and mothers of children aged 6-24 months living in rural communities.

Not a fit: Patients who do not meet the age criteria or do not reside in the targeted rural areas may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve access to maternal and child health services, potentially reducing maternal and infant mortality rates in rural Cambodia.
