What this trial studies
This clinical trial evaluates the Qoyangnuptu Intervention App (QI App), designed specifically for youth in a Southwestern Tribal community, to enhance behavioral health through daily engagement and mindfulness practices. Participants aged 14-25 will receive support from trained peer mentors and log their mood and stress levels daily. The app aims to address the unique cultural needs of Indigenous youth, providing a culturally responsive intervention that fosters resilience and community engagement. The study will assess how effectively the app can promote sustained use and positive behavioral health outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 14-25 who belong to a Southwestern Tribal community and have access to a smartphone and the internet.
Not a fit: Patients outside the age range of 14-25 or those who do not belong to the Southwestern Tribal community may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve mental health outcomes and resilience among Indigenous youth.
How similar studies have performed: While mobile health interventions have shown promise in various populations, this specific culturally tailored approach for Southwestern Tribal youth is novel and has not been extensively tested.
