What this trial studies

This pilot study evaluates the safety and effectiveness of the JUN mobile health app, which utilizes artificial intelligence to monitor symptoms and provide timely feedback to pregnant women. The research will compare the experiences of pregnant women with and without criminal justice oversight over a three-month period. The study will take place across three diverse locations: Texas, Oregon, and Minnesota, focusing on self-efficacy in using the app. The goal is to understand how community supervision impacts the use of this digital health intervention during pregnancy.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are pregnant women aged 18-50 in their first six months of pregnancy, either on community supervision or without criminal system involvement.

Not a fit: Patients who are not pregnant or are beyond the first six months of pregnancy will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this app could enhance pregnancy care and decision-making for women, particularly those under criminal justice supervision.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of mobile health apps in pregnancy care is growing, this specific approach focusing on criminal justice oversight is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
