What this trial studies

This study aims to design and implement a mobile application to improve medication management for pediatric surgery patients. The app will focus on the appropriate use of anesthetics, antimicrobials, and analgesics, addressing the high risk of medication errors in this population. By enhancing communication between patients and healthcare providers, the app seeks to reduce anxiety and improve educational resources for families. The effectiveness of the app will be assessed in a pediatric surgery department to determine its impact on medication appropriateness.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are pediatric patients undergoing specific surgeries such as circumcision, inguinal hernia repair, and appendectomy.

Not a fit: Patients with cardiac issues, diabetes, hypertension, immunocompromised conditions, or renal and liver failure may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this app could significantly reduce medication errors and improve safety in pediatric surgical care.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using mobile applications for medication management, indicating potential success for this approach.
