What this trial studies

This project aims to evaluate the acceptability and feasibility of a mobile application called 'TechCare-PK' designed for individuals experiencing first episode psychosis in Pakistan. The study focuses on recruiting suitable participants diagnosed with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, aged 18 and older, who can use smartphones. By leveraging mobile health technology, the intervention seeks to provide support and resources to patients, addressing barriers such as distance and reluctance to engage in face-to-face therapy. The study will assess whether the app is a viable tool for managing symptoms and improving patient outcomes.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include males and females over 18 years old diagnosed with first episode psychosis who can use a smartphone and understand Urdu.

Not a fit: Patients with organic brain diseases, significant medical illnesses, or those unable to use smartphone functions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters
