What this trial studies

This study focuses on developing a mobile health application that provides mindfulness-based stress reduction specifically for adolescents diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. The aim is to assess whether daily mindfulness practices can lead to improvements in anxiety symptoms among these adolescents. Participants will engage in mindfulness training to help manage their anxiety while living with a chronic condition. Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adolescents aged 12-18 who have been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes for at least six months and exhibit moderate anxiety.

Not a fit: Patients with other chronic medical conditions requiring intensive daily management may not benefit from this study.

Eligibility criteria

Inclusion Criteria:

* Clinical diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes for 6 months or longer
* Anxiety score of 5 or higher on the Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-item scale
* Must be able to read and speak English

Exclusion Criteria:

* Clinical diagnosis of a chronic medical condition requiring intensive daily management
