What this trial studies

This observational study aims to analyze the optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) and its associated factors in healthy volunteers from Taiwan. A total of 150 participants aged over 20 will be recruited, and their ONSD will be measured using ultrasound techniques. The study seeks to establish a local database of normal ONSD values, which is crucial for interpreting results in clinical settings, especially given the limited data available for Asian populations. The measurements will be conducted from September 2020 to August 2021.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy adults aged over 20 years.

Not a fit: Patients under the age of 20 will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide essential baseline data for assessing intracranial pressure in clinical practice.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on ONSD in Asian populations, similar studies in Western countries have shown success in establishing normative values.
