What this trial studies

This observational study aims to evaluate a novel non-invasive cardiac measurement technique called gyrocardiography (GCG) to assess cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) in healthy individuals. Participants, including both athletes and non-athletic individuals, will undergo ergometry and spiroergometry to measure various hemodynamic parameters such as heart rate, cardiac strength, and VO2max. The goal is to develop a solution that can be utilized via commercially available smartphones without the need for additional equipment or specialized knowledge. The study will also include follow-up visits to monitor changes in physical activity habits.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy adults aged 18-65 who do not have diagnosed cardiovascular diseases and are willing to participate in follow-up visits.

Not a fit: Patients with significant cardiovascular conditions or those on medications affecting heart rate may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this method could provide a convenient and accessible way for individuals to monitor their exercise capacity and overall fitness.

How similar studies have performed: While this approach is innovative, similar studies have shown promise in using non-invasive methods for fitness assessment, suggesting potential for success.
