Mapping the heart and arteries in coronary artery disease

Myocardial and Arterial Phenotype of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD-MAP): A Multicenter Multimodality Imaging & Physiology Registry

Observational Beijing Anzhen Hospital · NCT06202300

What this trial studies

The CAD-MAP registry aims to create a detailed cardiac imaging map that includes the epicardial coronary artery, coronary microcirculation, and myocardium in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). By utilizing advanced imaging techniques such as coronary computed tomography angiography, cardiac magnetic resonance, and positron emission tomography/computed tomography, the study seeks to explore the prognostic value of multidimensional imaging biomarkers. This approach intends to enhance risk stratification and optimize treatment outcomes for CAD patients by providing a comprehensive understanding of the underlying pathological mechanisms. The study will include patients who are eligible for coronary angiography and related examinations.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older with suspected or confirmed coronary artery disease who can undergo coronary angiography.

Not a fit: Patients with life-threatening conditions such as malignant tumors or those who are pregnant or lactating may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved risk assessment and personalized treatment strategies for patients with coronary artery disease.

How similar studies have performed: Previous imaging cohorts have shown promise in evaluating cardiovascular disease, suggesting that this approach may yield valuable insights, although this specific methodology is novel.
