What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of manual therapy on the shoulder function of volleyball players, focusing on kinetic and kinematic factors that may influence performance and injury prevention. Participants will undergo interventions including manual therapy, a placebo, and exercise to assess improvements in muscle strength and balance. The goal is to determine if these interventions can lead to better athletic performance and reduced injury rates among players. The study aims to fill a gap in existing literature regarding the impact of manual therapy on upper limb function in this specific athletic population.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are healthy volleyball players over 18 years old who regularly compete in the AZS volleyball league.
Not a fit: Patients with previous upper limb surgeries or injuries in the last 6 months may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved shoulder strength and balance in volleyball players, potentially reducing injury rates.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited literature specifically addressing manual therapy in volleyball players, similar approaches in other sports have shown promising results.
