Psychological and Biological Outcomes in Breast Cancer Patients After Pythagorean Self-Awareness Intervention.
NA · National and Kapodistrian University of Athens · NCT05984914

What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of a stress management program, specifically the Pythagorean Self-Awareness Intervention, on telomere length in T-leukocytes of breast cancer patients who have completed their cancer treatments, except for hormonal therapy. Participants will complete self-referred questionnaires, provide hair cortisol samples, and undergo blood material extraction to assess the impact of stress on their biological age. The goal is to understand how managing stress can influence cellular aging and potentially improve patient outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are women diagnosed with primary breast cancer who have completed all anticancer therapies except hormonal therapy.
Not a fit: Patients with psychiatric diagnoses, metastasis, or those who have previously participated in stress management studies may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance the quality of life and survival rates for breast cancer patients by mitigating the effects of stress.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have indicated a correlation between stress management and improved health outcomes, suggesting potential success for this approach.
