Managing Grade 3 Benign Laryngotracheal Stenosis with Surgery and Long-term Stenting
Outcome of Resection Anastomosis and Long Term Stenting With Montgomery Tube Operations in Management of Grade 3 Benign Laryngotracheal Stenosis
This study is testing whether a combination of surgery and long-term stenting can help people with Grade 3 laryngotracheal stenosis breathe better after issues like trauma or prolonged intubation.

What this trial studies
This study focuses on the management of Grade 3 benign laryngotracheal stenosis, a condition often resulting from trauma or prolonged intubation. It evaluates the effectiveness of resection anastomosis combined with long-term stenting using Montgomery tubes. The approach aims to restore airway patency and improve patient outcomes. The study will include patients diagnosed with laryngotracheal stenosis following tracheostomy or intubation, while excluding those with specific prior surgical interventions or incomplete medical records.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients diagnosed with Grade 3 laryngotracheal stenosis due to tracheostomy or intubation.
Not a fit: Patients who have undergone laryngeal split and cartilaginous grafting or have conditions unrelated to post-intubation stenosis may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve airway management and quality of life for patients suffering from severe laryngotracheal stenosis.
How similar studies have performed: While specific prior studies on this exact approach may be limited, similar interventions for airway management have shown promise in improving patient outcomes.
Eligibility criteria

Inclusion Criteria: \- patients who are diagnosed with layngotracheal stenosis either post tracheostomy or post intubation Exclusion Criteria: * The exclusion criteria will be patients who underwent laryngeal split and cartilaginous grafting; patients who underwent carinal resection; patients with incomplete records; and resection due to conditions other than post intubation tracheal stenosis (e.g., airway tumors, idiopathic stenosis, trauma, Wegener' granulomatosis and chronic relapsing polychondritis).
