What this trial studies
This observational study aims to recruit 30,000 individuals aged 40-70 and follow them for 25 years to understand variations in disease susceptibility, clinical phenotypes, and therapeutic responses. Participants will visit a Clinical Test Center every two years, undergo phone interviews on alternate years, and provide samples for biobanking. The study will also collect annual online questionnaires to assess the impact of various factors on disease progression. The goal is to evaluate the interplay of omics, physiological characteristics, and lifestyle in disease pathogenesis.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy adults aged 40-70 who are willing to participate in long-term follow-up assessments.
Not a fit: Patients with active cancer, unstable medical conditions, or those currently undergoing fertility treatments may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into the factors influencing adult diseases, leading to improved prevention and treatment strategies.
How similar studies have performed: While similar longitudinal studies have been conducted, this specific approach focusing on the interplay of various health factors over such an extended period is relatively novel.
