What this trial studies
This study investigates how lifestyle factors affect cognitive decline in older Singaporeans and evaluates the effectiveness of a lifestyle intervention program aimed at promoting brain health. Participants aged 60-75 who are non-demented will be divided into three groups: a control group receiving no intervention, a uniformed intervention group receiving group-based health education, and an individualized intervention group receiving both group education and personalized health coaching. The program will last for two years, with weekly sessions in the first month followed by monthly sessions, focusing on health-related topics that encourage healthy lifestyle choices. Cognitive and biological changes will be assessed using various tests to measure the impact of the interventions.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are Singaporean adults aged 60-75 who are non-demented and meet specific cognitive assessment criteria.
Not a fit: Patients with terminal illnesses, severe hearing impairments, or those participating in other interventional studies may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could help delay cognitive decline and improve the quality of life for older adults.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results in using lifestyle interventions to prevent cognitive decline, suggesting this approach may be effective.
