What this trial studies
This study compares physicians who receive organizational leadership development interventions with those who do not, and also contrasts physicians with formal leadership roles against those without. Participants will complete surveys measuring job satisfaction, work-related stress, and burnout, along with questions about demographic, professional, and motivational factors. Analyses will identify factors associated with wellbeing and explore whether seeking or holding leadership roles is linked to higher satisfaction. Findings aim to inform whether targeted leadership programs can influence physician wellbeing and career trajectories.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Licensed physicians age 18 or older who practice at Methodist Health System and are able to read English and provide consent.
Not a fit: Physicians who do not work at Methodist Health System, cannot read English, or decline to participate are unlikely to gain benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the program could increase physician job satisfaction and lower work-related stress and burnout through improved leadership skills and organizational support.
How similar studies have performed: Previous leadership-development programs have sometimes led to improved job satisfaction and leadership skills, but results for reducing burnout have been inconsistent.
