What this trial studies
This open-label, two-arm trial in Kaohsiung will compare a Kaempferol-containing facial mask to a hyaluronic acid-containing facial mask in female participants aged 25–60. Enrolled participants will receive one of the two masks and undergo objective measurements of skin biophysical properties at baseline and after the treatment period. Key exclusions include pregnancy or breastfeeding, psoriasis or atopic dermatitis, recent systemic corticosteroid or oral retinoid use, severe systemic illness, infectious diseases, psychiatric disorders, external skin trauma or infections, and allergy to the product. The primary focus is on short-term cosmetic and biophysical skin endpoints rather than long-term clinical outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Women aged 25–60 who are not pregnant or breastfeeding, do not have active inflammatory skin disease or severe systemic illness, and are not allergic to the product are ideal candidates.
Not a fit: People who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, active skin infections, severe systemic diseases, known allergy to the product, men, or those outside the 25–60 age range are unlikely to benefit or are excluded from participation.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, Kaempferol masks could provide improved skin hydration, elasticity, or barrier function as a topical cosmetic option.
How similar studies have performed: Topical antioxidants and hyaluronic-acid products have shown cosmetic benefits in prior studies, but clinical evidence specifically for Kaempferol-containing masks in humans is limited.
