Investigating the role of lymphatic organs and the heart after a heart attack
Multimodal Characterization of Lymphatic Organs and Myocardium in Patients After Acute Myocardial Infarction
This study is trying to see how the immune system helps the heart heal after a heart attack and if certain blood markers can predict this healing process.

What this trial studies
This study explores the adaptive immune response's role in healing and remodeling the heart following an acute myocardial infarction. It aims to identify blood-derived biomarkers that can predict the immune response to cardiac injury through multimodal imaging techniques. The research focuses on the relationship between lymphocyte activity in lymph nodes and myocardial healing, particularly using CXCR4 PET-based imaging to assess immune response non-invasively. By understanding these dynamics, the study seeks to improve therapeutic interventions for patients recovering from heart attacks.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults over 18 who have experienced an acute myocardial infarction and have been treated with immediate catheterization.
Not a fit: Patients with hemodynamic instability, known coronary artery disease, or those on immunosuppressive therapy may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to better-targeted therapies for patients recovering from myocardial infarction by enhancing our understanding of the immune response.
How similar studies have performed: While the approach of using multimodal imaging to assess immune response is innovative, similar studies have shown promise in understanding cardiac healing processes.
