What this trial studies
This study aims to explore how complex decongestive physiotherapy (CDP) impacts proprioception, balance, and tactile sensation in patients suffering from unilateral lymphedema in the lower extremities due to cancer surgery. Participants aged 18-65 will receive CDP to assess its effectiveness in improving their physical capabilities. The study focuses on understanding the relationship between therapy and sensory-motor functions in this specific patient population.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18-65 with unilateral lymphedema in the lower extremity resulting from cancer surgery.
Not a fit: Patients with bilateral lymphedema, active infections, or other contraindications to manual lymphatic drainage may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this therapy could significantly improve balance and sensory perception in patients with leg lymphedema, enhancing their quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on this specific approach, similar therapies have shown promise in improving physical function in lymphedema patients.
