What this trial studies

This study evaluates the validity and reliability of the Dubousset Functional Test (DFT) in individuals diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Participants will undergo a series of balance assessments, including the DFT and other established mobility tests, to determine their performance and stability. The study will utilize a test-retest design, with assessments conducted by the same physiotherapist to ensure consistency. Data on socio-demographic and clinical characteristics will also be collected to provide a comprehensive profile of the participants.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 18 to 65 with a diagnosis of MS and an EDSS score of 3.5 or below who can balance independently.

Not a fit: Patients experiencing a relapse within the last 30 days or those with balance issues due to conditions other than MS may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the assessment of balance and mobility in patients with MS, leading to better management strategies.

How similar studies have performed: While there are established balance tests for MS, the specific application of the Dubousset Functional Test in this context is novel and has not been extensively tested.
