Investigating risk factors for lung disease in rheumatoid arthritis patients
Investigation on Risk Factors of Rheumatoid Arthritis Related Interstitial Lung Disease

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to identify risk factors associated with interstitial lung disease (ILD) in patients diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). It will involve patients aged 18 and older who meet the 2010 ACR/EULAR classification criteria for RA and have been diagnosed with ILD through high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT). The study seeks to improve the understanding of the prognostic risks and predictive biomarkers for RA-ILD, which currently lack reliable indicators. By analyzing various clinical data and biomarkers, the study hopes to enhance early detection and management strategies for this serious complication of RA.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older with a confirmed diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis and interstitial lung disease.
Not a fit: Patients under 18 years old or those with other systemic autoimmune diseases or specific exclusions such as certain kidney conditions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved prediction and management of interstitial lung disease in rheumatoid arthritis patients, potentially enhancing patient outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on biomarkers in RA-ILD, this specific investigation into risk factors is novel and aims to fill existing gaps in predictive capabilities.
