What this trial studies
This observational study aims to analyze the correlation between lipid metabolites and hepatocellular carcinoma, a common malignant tumor in China. Researchers will conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of various lipid metabolites found in the plasma and liver cancer tissues of patients undergoing hepatic resection. By collecting tumor-related pathological data, the study seeks to enhance early diagnosis and treatment strategies for liver cancer, particularly in patients with metabolic dysfunction-related liver disease.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients aged 18-80 years who are undergoing hepatic resection for hepatocellular carcinoma.
Not a fit: Patients with advanced liver cancer involving major vascular structures or those with significant comorbidities may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved early diagnosis and treatment options for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results in using lipid metabolites as biomarkers for various cancers, suggesting potential success for this approach.
