What this trial studies
This observational study aims to explore the renal manifestations associated with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM). It focuses on patients who have undergone kidney biopsies at the Strasbourg University Hospital from 1990 to 2023. The study seeks to gather data on the effectiveness of various treatments, including corticosteroids and immunosuppressants, in managing IIM-related kidney complications. By analyzing patient data, the study hopes to provide insights into treatment strategies for this complex condition.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older diagnosed with inflammatory myopathy who have undergone a kidney biopsy.
Not a fit: Patients with known causes of renal damage unrelated to inflammatory myopathy will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved treatment recommendations for patients with inflammatory myopathy and associated kidney issues.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data from randomized controlled trials, observational studies have shown some effectiveness of treatments in similar patient populations.
Eligibility criteria

Inclusion Criteria: * Major subject (≥ 18 years old) * Inflammatory myopathy defined by the ACR/EULAR 2017 criteria * Kidney biopsy performed * Supported at the Strasbourg University Hospital during the period from January 1, 1990 to May 1, 2023. * Subject who has not expressed opposition to the reuse of their data for scientific research purposes. It is the responsibility of the investigator to verify the absence of opposition in the patient's medical file. Exclusion criteria: * Subject having expressed opposition to participating in the study * Known etiology of renal damage excluding inflammatory myopathy.
