What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess the frequency and factors linked to chronic kidney disease (CKD) among children diagnosed with bronchial asthma. It will evaluate the severity of asthma as a potential risk factor for kidney injury and explore the relationship between various inflammatory markers and the risk of developing CKD. The study will involve clinical assessments and laboratory tests, including CBC, CRP, ESR, ABG, interleukin 6, and tumor necrosis factor alpha, to gather relevant data. The goal is to identify asthmatic patients who may require closer monitoring for kidney health.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children aged 2 to 18 years diagnosed with bronchial asthma without any associated chronic illnesses.

Not a fit: Patients with chronic illnesses or other associated diseases that complicate asthma may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved monitoring and management strategies for asthmatic patients at risk of chronic kidney disease.

How similar studies have performed: While there may be studies exploring the relationship between asthma and kidney health, this specific focus on children and the associated inflammatory markers is relatively novel.
