What this trial studies

This observational study focuses on understanding the role of epigenetic regulators, specifically non-coding RNAs, in breast cancer. It aims to measure the expression levels of UPK1A-AS1 and UNC5B-AS1 in clinical samples from newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. By analyzing these molecular markers, the study seeks to enhance the diagnosis and prognosis of breast cancer, potentially leading to new therapeutic targets. The research highlights the significance of epigenetic dysregulation in cancer and its implications for patient outcomes.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are Egyptian females aged 18 years and above who have been newly diagnosed with breast cancer.

Not a fit: Patients with blood diseases, other cancers, liver cirrhosis, or evidence of distant metastases may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved diagnostic and prognostic tools for breast cancer patients.

How similar studies have performed: While this study explores a novel approach, previous research has indicated the potential of epigenetic markers in cancer diagnosis and prognosis.
