Investigating ketohexokinase in endometrial cancer
Prognostic Evaluations of Ketohexokinase Isoforms in Endometrial Cancer
This study is trying to see how a protein called ketohexokinase affects the growth of type I endometrial cancer in women who are having surgery or have just had surgery for this cancer.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to explore the role of ketohexokinase expression and its isoforms in the development of type I endometrial cancer. It will involve in vitro experiments and clinical examinations to analyze the survival probabilities of patients based on their ketohexokinase expression levels. The study will include women who are either about to undergo gynecological staging or have recently had staging surgery for endometrial cancer. By understanding the relationship between ketohexokinase and cancer progression, the study seeks to provide insights into potential therapeutic targets.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are women over 20 years old diagnosed with type I endometrial cancer who are undergoing or have undergone gynecological staging.
Not a fit: Patients receiving preoperative chemotherapy or radiation therapy for endometrial cancer may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved prognostic markers and targeted therapies for patients with endometrial cancer.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited information on similar studies, the exploration of metabolic pathways in cancer is a growing field, suggesting potential for novel insights.
