What this trial studies
This project explores the impact of yoga on body image, particularly focusing on how it can alleviate body dissatisfaction and improve eating behaviors among young women. By employing quantitative methodologies, the study aims to identify the mechanisms through which yoga may positively influence body image. The research addresses existing gaps in literature regarding the effectiveness of yoga in promoting a positive body image and aims to provide clearer insights into its benefits. The study consists of two phases, with participants engaging in the Y4BI intervention.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are females aged 18-35 who do not regularly practice yoga.
Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, have medical conditions that prevent yoga practice, or have a full-blown body image disorder may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could help improve body image and eating behaviors in young women, potentially reducing the risk of body image disorders.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research on yoga's impact on body image, existing studies suggest potential benefits, making this approach both relevant and necessary.
