Investigating how portal vein thrombosis affects liver transplantation outcomes
A Study of the Correlation Between Portal Vein Thrombosis and Prognosis of Liver Transplantation

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to explore the correlation between portal vein thrombosis (PVT) and the prognosis of liver transplantation. Participants will be divided into two groups: those with PVT and those without, allowing for comparative analysis of their data. The study will estimate the prevalence and risk factors associated with PVT, develop a predictive model for clinical use, and assess the prognostic impact of PVT on liver transplantation outcomes. Data will be collected from various medical imaging, surgical procedures, and follow-up treatments.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 years or older who are recipients of liver transplantation.
Not a fit: Patients undergoing retransplantation, multi-organ transplantation, or those with portal vein tumor thrombus may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the management and outcomes of liver transplantation for patients with portal vein thrombosis.
How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored aspects of portal vein thrombosis, this specific correlation with liver transplantation prognosis is less commonly investigated, making it a novel approach.
