Investigating gene variations and IL-35 levels in chronic hepatitis B
Study IL- 35 Level and Fibronectin Type Ⅲ Domain Containing Protein 5 \ Irsin (FNDC5 rs3480) Gene Variations in Chronic Hepatitis B.
This study is testing if certain gene variations and levels of a protein called IL-35 can help us understand how chronic hepatitis B affects people.

What this trial studies
This study aims to explore the association between the FNDC5 gene variations and chronic hepatitis B (CHB), focusing on the distribution of its alleles in relation to various clinical parameters. It will also assess the correlation between IL-35 and SOD serum levels with the risk of developing CHB. By analyzing these genetic factors, the study seeks to enhance understanding of the mechanisms underlying the clinical outcomes of HBV infection. The research will involve genotyping patients diagnosed with CHB based on established diagnostic criteria.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B who meet specific clinical criteria.
Not a fit: Patients currently undergoing antiviral therapy for chronic hepatitis B will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding of genetic factors influencing chronic hepatitis B, potentially guiding personalized treatment strategies.
How similar studies have performed: While the role of genetic factors in hepatitis B has been explored, this specific investigation into FNDC5 gene variations and IL-35 levels is relatively novel.
