What this trial studies
This observational study aims to explore the financial toxicity experienced by patients with testicular germ cell tumors (TGCT) through validated questionnaires. It includes two cohorts: one with patients currently undergoing multi-agent chemotherapy and another with long-term survivors who have completed treatment. By assessing the financial impact alongside quality of life, the study seeks to understand the broader implications of TGCT treatment beyond physical health. The findings may help inform support services for affected individuals.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are men over 18 years old with a confirmed diagnosis of TGCT who have completed multi-cycle chemotherapy and are within 1-5 years of surveillance.
Not a fit: Patients currently undergoing active chemotherapy or those who have not completed their first line of treatment may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights that lead to improved support systems for patients facing financial challenges due to cancer treatment.
How similar studies have performed: While financial toxicity in cancer care is a recognized issue, this specific focus on TGCT and its financial implications is relatively novel and has not been extensively studied.
