What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on understanding the adherence to adjuvant endocrine therapy (AET) among women with hormone receptor positive early breast cancer in Croatia. It aims to identify various psychosocial factors that influence adherence through an anonymous survey utilizing validated instruments. By assessing beliefs about medications and quality of life, the study seeks to provide insights that could lead to tailored interventions to improve adherence rates. Given the lack of prior research in this specific population, the findings could be crucial for enhancing treatment outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are women over 18 years old diagnosed with hormone receptor positive early breast cancer who have been prescribed adjuvant endocrine therapy for more than three months.
Not a fit: Patients with advanced metastatic breast cancer or significant mental health disorders may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved adherence to hormone therapy, potentially reducing breast cancer recurrence and mortality rates.
How similar studies have performed: While there is existing data on adherence to AET in Europe, this specific investigation in Croatia is novel and has not been previously conducted.
