What this trial studies
This study evaluates the visuospatial abilities and psychological outcomes in patients diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and West Nile Virus (vWN). Participants will undergo neuropsychological assessments followed by 10 sessions of cognitive training that includes digital exercises and the use of prismatic lenses. After the intervention, patients will be re-evaluated to assess any changes in their cognitive and psychological profiles. The study aims to better understand cognitive impairments associated with these conditions and explore potential rehabilitation protocols.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis or West Nile Virus within the last twelve months who have preserved use of at least one hand and normal or corrected vision.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of psychiatric or concurrent neurological diseases, or those unable to provide informed consent, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance cognitive rehabilitation strategies for patients suffering from Multiple Sclerosis and West Nile Virus.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited literature on cognitive training for these specific conditions, previous studies have shown promise in cognitive rehabilitation approaches for neurological patients.
