What this trial studies

This study involves healthy adult participants who will undergo two sessions to measure brain activity using electroencephalography (EEG) and functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI). In the first session, participants will perform cognitive tasks while their brain activity is recorded. The second session will utilize fMRI-based neurofeedback, allowing participants to receive real-time visual feedback of their brain signals and attempt to control their brain activity. The aim is to develop an EEG-based method to target brain network interactions for potential neurotherapeutic applications.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy adults aged 18 to 35.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of psychiatric or neurological disorders or contraindications for MRI will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to more accessible and personalized neurofeedback treatments for various neuropsychiatric conditions.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of neurofeedback is established, this specific approach combining EEG and fMRI for personalized treatment is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
