What this trial studies

This observational study aims to explore the prognostic value of biomarkers in patients diagnosed with polyneuropathy. A prospective cohort of 200 patients will undergo physical tests, medical examinations, and blood biomarker assessments at baseline, with follow-ups at one and two years. The study will analyze the relationship between biomarker levels and disease progression using logistic regression and evaluate the diagnostic performance of these biomarkers through Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve analysis.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with polyneuropathy confirmed by nerve conduction studies.

Not a fit: Patients who are unable to perform physical tests due to unrelated comorbidities may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into the prognostic factors for polyneuropathy, potentially leading to improved patient management and outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of biomarkers in polyneuropathy is an emerging area, similar studies have shown promise in other neurological conditions, suggesting potential for success in this approach.
