What this trial studies

This trial aims to assess whether an interactive and informative exhibition in a Primary Care Clinic's waiting room can decrease benzodiazepine consumption among adults. Researchers will compare the usage of benzodiazepines before and after the exhibition is implemented. Participants will engage with materials highlighting the risks associated with chronic benzodiazepine use, while health professionals will also receive a single informative session on the topic.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 to 99 who attend the Baix-a-Mar Primary Care Center.

Not a fit: Patients with severe mental health diseases or those not assigned to a doctor at the center may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to a significant reduction in benzodiazepine use, improving patient safety and health outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on similar interactive approaches, previous studies have shown that educational interventions can effectively reduce medication use.
