What this trial studies
This pilot study aims to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of combining food prescriptions with best feeding practices among participants in the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP). It will involve testing the Feeding Families with Young Families (FFYF) curriculum, focusing on implementation procedures, staff training, recruitment, and data collection. The study will gather data on how well these integrated approaches work in real-world settings to improve dietary habits and feeding behaviors in children aged 4-8 years.

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are parents living in Harris or Fort Bend counties with children aged 4-8 years who can communicate in English or Spanish.
Not a fit: Parents of children with disabilities or those on medications affecting weight and appetite may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to improved dietary habits and reduced childhood obesity rates among participating families.
