What this trial studies

This project aims to evaluate the integration of care for children with special health care needs (CSHCN) by implementing a support package that includes family support workers and navigation packs for services. The study will gather qualitative data through semi-structured interviews with parents, caregivers, and professionals involved in the care of CSHCN. By exploring their views and experiences, the research seeks to understand the effectiveness of integrated care models and identify areas for improvement. This initiative responds to a significant gap in the literature regarding integrated care for this vulnerable population.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are parents or caregivers of children with special health care needs, as well as staff and professionals involved in their care.

Not a fit: Patients who may not benefit from this study include those under 18 years of age or individuals who cannot communicate effectively in English.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved care coordination and better quality of life for children with special health care needs and their families.

How similar studies have performed: While integrated care models have been proposed, few have been rigorously evaluated for children with special health care needs, making this approach relatively novel.
