What this trial studies

The Integrated DEpression CAre (IDECA) Programme is designed to enhance the management of depression through a comprehensive intervention strategy. It includes the development of a shared care protocol that integrates primary, secondary, and tertiary care levels, along with training modules for healthcare providers and case managers. Additionally, the program offers patient education for self-management of depression and proposes a financing model for integrated care. The effectiveness of this approach will be evaluated through various clinical outcome indicators.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this program are individuals aged 18-65 who present with depressive symptoms at a general practitioner's office.

Not a fit: Patients with severe depression requiring immediate referral to specialized services may not benefit from this integrated care approach.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve the management and outcomes of depression for patients across different care levels.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in integrated care approaches for depression, suggesting potential for success in this program.
