What this trial studies
This study aims to construct and evaluate an integrated care model specifically designed for non-acute stroke patients with tracheotomy who are at risk of pulmonary infections. It involves a retrospective analysis of patient data, clinical observations, and expert consultations to develop a systematic approach to care. The effectiveness of this model will be assessed by comparing clinical outcomes, such as infection severity and caregiver burden, before and after its implementation. The study will utilize convenience sampling to select participants from the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Shenzhen Second People's Hospital.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are non-acute stroke patients aged 18 and older who have undergone tracheotomy and are off mechanical ventilation.
Not a fit: Patients with unstable vital signs or those requiring ICU treatment, as well as those with malignant tumors or other infectious diseases, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this integrated care model could significantly reduce the severity of pulmonary infections in stroke patients with tracheotomy, improving their overall health outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is based on existing literature, the specific integrated care model being evaluated is novel and has not been extensively tested in this patient population.
