Indonesian Asthma Gymnastic added to pulmonary rehabilitation for adults with asthma
EFFICACY OF INDONESIAN ASTHMATIC GYMNASTIC AS COMBINE PULMONARY REHABILITATION IN ASTHMATIC PATIENT BASED ON ASTHMA CLASSIFICATION
This project will test whether adding Indonesian Asthma Gymnastic to usual care helps adults with stable asthma improve walking distance, symptom control, peak flow, and lung function.

What this trial studies
This is an interventional program that adds a structured Indonesian Asthma Gymnastic exercise routine to participants' ongoing standard asthma treatment, including medication and lifestyle education. Adults aged 18–65 with stable asthma will perform the exercise program while outcomes are measured before and after the intervention. Primary outcome measures include the 6-minute walk test, Asthma Control Test, peak expiratory flow rate, and lung function (spirometry). The program is conducted at a single center (RSUP Persahabatan) and excludes patients with recent exacerbations, other lung diseases, or neuromuscular disorders affecting respiration.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18–65 with stable asthma who are already on routine asthma treatment and willing to participate in supervised exercise sessions.
Not a fit: Patients with a current asthma exacerbation, other chronic lung diseases, or neuromuscular conditions affecting breathing are unlikely to benefit or be eligible for this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could increase exercise tolerance, improve symptom control, and modestly improve lung function for adults with stable asthma.
How similar studies have performed: Related pulmonary rehabilitation and breathing-exercise programs have shown benefits for asthma control and exercise capacity, but this specific Indonesian Asthma Gymnastic approach appears relatively novel.
