This study aims to enhance the success rate of treating migrating foreign bodies located outside the pharynx and esophagus. It involves a review of medical records of inpatients diagnosed with migrating foreign bodies from 2020 to 2025. Data collected includes patient demographics, time to hospitalization, imaging results, surgical procedures, and follow-up outcomes. The study focuses on exploratory surgery as a method of intervention.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients who have confirmed foreign bodies in the upper aerodigestive tract requiring surgical intervention.
Not a fit: Patients with foreign bodies located in the pharynx or esophagus that are not found during surgery will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved treatment outcomes for patients with migrating foreign bodies in the upper aerodigestive tract.
How similar studies have performed: While there may be limited data on similar studies, the approach of reviewing surgical outcomes for foreign body removal has shown promise in improving treatment strategies.
