What this trial studies
This project aims to enhance the inclusive representation of reproductive processes in Spanish audiovisual fiction by developing a handbook of good practices for scriptwriters and audiovisual creators. It will involve focus groups with individuals who have experienced reproductive processes and in-depth interviews with healthcare professionals. The goal is to create narratives that reflect diverse experiences and challenge traditional socio-cultural structures surrounding topics like menstruation, pregnancy, and menopause. The research will be conducted in collaboration with experts in gynecology, midwifery, and audiovisual storytelling.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this project are individuals who have participated in group health education programs related to sexual and reproductive health.
Not a fit: Patients who do not speak Spanish or Catalan may not benefit from this study due to language barriers.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this initiative could lead to more accurate and inclusive portrayals of reproductive health in media, improving emotional well-being and quality of life for individuals experiencing these processes.
How similar studies have performed: While there is ongoing discourse about representation in media, this approach is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in the context of reproductive processes in Spanish fiction.
