What this trial studies
This is a single-center, prospective clinical project at a university pedodontics clinic enrolling children aged 11–14 with clinically and radiographically diagnosed amelogenesis imperfecta who need anterior veneers. Participants will receive veneer restorations on affected front teeth and complete the Child Perceptions Questionnaire (CPQ11-14) before treatment and one month after treatment. The study will measure short-term aesthetic, functional, and psychosocial changes following the veneer procedure. Outcomes will be compared within participants to determine whether veneers produce measurable improvements in oral health–related quality of life.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Children aged 11–14 who are systemically healthy, have a clinical and radiographic diagnosis of amelogenesis imperfecta, and have an indication for anterior veneers are ideal candidates.
Not a fit: Children with systemic diseases, a history of relevant allergies, inadequate cooperation for treatment, or no clinical indication for veneers are unlikely to benefit from this intervention in the study context.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, anterior veneers could quickly improve appearance, function, and psychosocial well-being for affected children.
How similar studies have performed: Restorative approaches such as veneers and composite restorations have been reported to improve aesthetics and quality of life in patients with amelogenesis imperfecta, but pediatric prospective evidence with standardized quality-of-life measures is limited.
