What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effects of a cognitive behavioral sleep intervention (CB-sleep) on sleep health and diabetes management in young adults aged 18-31 with Type 1 diabetes. Participants will be randomly assigned to either the CB-sleep intervention or an enhanced usual care control group. The study will assess various sleep health dimensions, glycemic control, and diabetes self-management outcomes over a period of 9 months, using both self-reported questionnaires and objective measures. The goal is to determine if improving sleep health can lead to better glycemic control and overall diabetes management in this population.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are young adults aged 18-31 with a diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes for at least one year and experiencing poor sleep health.
Not a fit: Patients with major chronic complex medical conditions or those currently participating in other intervention studies may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve glycemic control and quality of life for young adults with Type 1 diabetes.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results in improving diabetes management through sleep health interventions, indicating potential success for this approach.
